Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Croydon invites applicants to join a Degree Apprenticeship programme. You will work toward an apprenticeship standard over 36 months, with block release and London Southbank University as provider, aligned to Level 6 Rail & Rail Systems Senior Engineer.

You will design, implement, test, install and maintain signalling and control systems on live UK rail projects while gaining practical engineering skills and pursuing EngTech registration.

Qualifications

• A Levels BBB including Mathematics and/or Physical Sciences (120 UCAS points) OR
• Level 3 Rail Engineering Apprenticeship OR
• BTEC National Diploma DDM, including Level 3 Mathematics and Physical Sciences (128 UCAS points) OR
• EAL Technical Extended Diploma in Engineering Technologies, including Further Engineering Mathematics OR
• Access to HE qualifications with Mathematics and Physical Science modules (122 UCAS points) OR
• Equivalent Level 3 qualifications worth 120 UCAS points including Mathematics and Physical Sciences
• Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A-C including Maths and English or equivalent
• Logical thinking, willingness to self-learn and research, and a creative approach to problem solving
• Ability to work independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas
• Enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions

Responsibilities

• Build practical engineering skills by learning to design, implement, test, install and maintain signalling and control systems.
• Apply knowledge to live projects, supporting development and delivery of signalling and control solutions across the UK rail network.
• Develop professionally toward professional registration such as EngTech and engage in STEM activities.
