Job summary

Travail Employment Group is seeking a Furnace Operator for a global engineering business in the Rotherham area. You will set and operate annealing furnaces, monitor product quality from drawings, and record information while handling heavy equipment on a multi-product line.

The role requires a valid FLT counterbalance licence, experience in steel works or foundries, and a solid health & safety mindset. This temp-to-perm opportunity offers weekly pay and immediate start.

Qualifications

• Own or inhouse FLT counterbalance licence (copy required).
• Experience in steel works, foundry or heavy engineering environment.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

£15.83p/h, Monday to Friday, 3 shift rotation, AM/PM & Nights, Temp to perm, Weekly pay, 28 days holiday, training and development opportunities, Rotherham, Immediate start.

Due to an increase in demand and continued success a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Furnace Operator to join a global leading engineering business, with very high staff retention, based at their engineering facility in the Rotherham area. Working as part of a friendly team and reporting to the Production Manager, your day-to-day duties include:

• Setting and operating annealing furnaces.
• Responsible for the manufacturing line while running multiple products simultaneously.
• Checking product thickness, strength, colour, and positioning.
• Understanding and interpret engineering drawings.
• Ensuring all necessary product information is recorded accurately.
• Using FLT counterbalances and overhead cranes to load and unload machinery.
• Adhering to all health and safety procedures.

This role would suit someone who has worked as a Furnace Operator, Foundry Operative, Grinder, Fettler, Steel Worker and Rolling Mill Operative within a foundry, steel works or heavy engineering/ manufacturing environment. The successful Furnace Operator will have:

• Their own or inhouse FLT counterbalance licence (must be able to provide a copy).
• Experience working within a steel works, foundry or heavy engineering environment.
• A strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Good understanding of health and safety.
