Job summary

Meraki Talent is representing a leading Financial Services firm in Exeter seeking a Newly Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) to move from audit into industry. You will maintain fund accounting records, produce board packs, and manage NAVs while liaising with investment managers and auditors.

The role offers exposure to real estate investment, private equity and asset management, with a client-facing component and opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• ACA / ACCA Qualified - 2025/2026.
• Experience gained within Audit / Assurance with knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102) & IFRS.
• Strong communication skills, comfortable working with clients and acting as an extension of their team.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good team player.
• Exposure to Group accounting with experience of consolidations.
• Real Estate experience helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the accounting records for a number of large fund clients and liaise with Investment Managers.
• Review Monthly/Quarterly management accounts and other accounting reports.
• Produce Board packs and attend Board meetings.
• Review Net Asset Valuation reports and supporting calculations.
• Prepare half year and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and UK GAAP, liaising with Auditors.
• Client Relationship: Act as point-of-contact for multiple clients at a daily operational level.
• Ensure books and records are correct and that accounting information is accurate.
• Review Company management accounts and associated support schedules.
• NAV calculation preparation.
• Ensure deadlines are met by planning and scheduling effectively.

Meraki are partnering with a leading Financial Services firm based in Exeter who are looking to recruit a qualified accountant to join the as a Fund Accountant.

The successful candidate will be a Newly Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) who is looking to move from Audit, into industry. The position will work with leading firms within the "Real Estate Investment sector", so offers an excellent opportunity to gain first hand experience within the world of "Private Equity / Asset Management"

Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities

• Maintain the accounting records for a number of large fund clients (assets in the £100's of millions), and liaise with the Investment Managers with respect to the companies' activities
• Review of Monthly/Quarterly management accounts and other accounting reports in accordance with agreed timetables
• Produce Board packs and attend Board meetings
• Review of Net Asset Valuation reports and supporting calculations
• Prepare half year and annual financial statements in accordance with the relevant accounting standards (IFRS and UK GAAP) and liaise with Auditors
• Client Relationship: Point-of-contact for multiple clients (internal and external) at a daily operational level
• Ensuring books and records are correct and that accounting information is correctly
• Review of Company management accounts and associated support schedules
• NAV Calculation preparation
• Ensure deadlines are met by planning and scheduling effectively, including the use of our operational improvement software

Experience Required

• ACA / ACCA Qualified - 2025/2026
• Experience gained within Audit / Assurance and posessing sound knoweledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102) & IFRS
• Strong communication skills, comfortable working with clients and acting as an extension of their team
