Job summary

Trinity College Cambridge is seeking a Functions Supervisor to support the smooth operation of the Functions and Private Dining rooms for formal events, buffets, meetings or light refreshments. You will set up the hall or room, move furniture, serve food and drink, and clear down after meals.

The role requires experience waiting in a College or hotel, confidence to run small events with minimal supervision, and a good knowledge of health, safety and hygiene.

Qualifications

• Experience waiting in a College or hotel environment.
• Ability to run small events in a fast paced setting with minimal supervision.
• Good working knowledge of health, safety and hygiene.
• Some supervisory experience would be preferable.
• Candidate should be well presented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A “can do” attitude to work.

Responsibilities

• Set up hall or room for events and functions.
• Move furniture as required and prepare the space.
• Serve food and drink during events and clear down afterwards.
• Organise and supervise Functions staff, including permanent staff and casuals.
• Assist in other areas of the department as needed.
