Job summary

Sovereign & Bale is seeking a Functional Skills Tutor to support neurodiverse young people on a dynamic Supported Internship programme in Romford, Essex. You will plan and deliver classroom sessions both virtually and in-person, guiding interns through Functional Skills qualifications from Entry Level 3 to Level 2 and providing 1:1 tuition when needed.

You will collaborate with employers, families, job coaches and local authorities to help interns build confidence, employability and sustainable

Qualifications

• Proven success engaging SEN or neurodiverse learners.
• Experience delivering group teaching and one-to-one tuition.
• Strong track record of achieving outcomes for young people.
• Confident communicator with families, employers and other stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Functional Skills and disability legislation.
• Excellent organisational and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging daily lessons (in-person and virtual).
• Support interns to complete accredited portfolios (e.g. Pearson’s WorkSkills).
• Provide 1:1 tuition where needed.
• Assess learning needs and develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Work with employers and job coaches to prepare interns for work.
• Track progress, attend reviews, and contribute to student career planning.
• Promote the emotional, social and academic welfare of interns.
