Job summary

Innov8 Workshops in Rougham, Suffolk is seeking a passionate Functional Skills Tutor to support SEND and SEMH learners. You’ll deliver Functional Skills English and Maths, Employability and Life Skills sessions, and help learners move towards employment and independence.

We value safeguarding, positive behaviour, and strong relationships. You’ll create a safe learning environment, track progress, and collaborate with families and professionals to unlock learners’ potential.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or equivalent)
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
• Good safeguarding knowledge.

• help learners overcome barriers and achieve their goals

• support CV writing, applications and interview preparation

• Salary: £26,500 per annum (pro rata)

• Hours: 21 - 37 hours per week

This is more than teaching. You’ll build trusted relationships, engage learners who may have had negative experiences of education, and help them move towards employment, training and greater independence.

We’re looking for a passionate Functional Skills Tutor to meet the needs our SEND and SEMH young people.

Your responsibilities:

• deliver Functional Skills (English, Maths), Employability and Life Skills sessions

• create a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment

• help learners overcome barriers and achieve their goals

• track progress and celebrate success

• support CV writing, applications and interview preparation

• develop work experience, volunteering and apprenticeship opportunities

• work closely with colleagues, families and professionals

• champion safeguarding and student wellbeing.

What you will need

Essential:

• level 3 Award in Education and Training (or equivalent)

• strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills

• good safeguarding knowledge.

Desirable:

• functional Skills teaching experience

• knowledge of Preparing for Adulthood pathways

• trauma-informed practice and positive behaviour support experience.
