Job summary

Colchester Institute is hiring a Functional Skills and Employability Tutor to deliver maths/English and employability programmes to 16-18 year olds, adults and apprentices. You will assess learners, develop individual learning plans and contribute to quality assurance across departments.

The role supports face-to-face or remote delivery, requires strong collaboration with area heads, and emphasizes inclusive teaching for diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Employability skills.
• Experience working across departments and communicating progress.
• Experience working with a range of apprentices at different levels.
• Experience contributing to quality assurance processes in the curriculum.
• Curriculum development experience in Maths or English.
• Experience teaching students with SEMH difficulties.

Responsibilities

• Deliver learning and assessment of Employability and Functional Skills (Maths/English) to 16-18 year olds, adults and apprentices.
• Carry out robust initial assessments and develop individual learning plans.
• Collaborate with support/teaching staff to meet learning objectives.
• Coordinate with Area Heads and staff involved in the learning journey on attendance and progress.
• Conduct teaching/learning activities aligned to curriculum planning and maintain records.
• Provide accurate assessments and feedback and maintain assessment records.
