Job summary

Prospero Teaching is partnering with Local Councils and SEND teams across the UK to provide educational support for learners outside mainstream education. We are seeking a Tutor with QTS or equivalent to deliver 1:1 Core Subject tuition in preparation for Functional Skills exams.

Preferred candidates will have KS2–KS4 experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for helping students succeed up to GCSE level.

Qualifications

• QTS or relevant teaching qualification OR tuition experience.
• Strong knowledge of the Functional Skills curriculum across key subjects.
• Outstanding communication skills and the ability to build positive, impactful relationships with students.
• Passion for helping students succeed and confidence in teaching up to GCSE level.

Responsibilities

• Deliver focused, personalised tuition tailored to Functional Skills, ensuring students grasp core concepts.
• Design engaging, interactive lesson plans that adapt to individual learning styles using Portal resources.
• Monitor and assess student progress, writing an End of Week (EOW) report.
• Foster a supportive environment that motivates students to achieve academic success.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about progress and areas for improvement.

Prospero Teaching are partnered with Local Councils and SEND teams throughout the UK. We provide educational support to individuals who are currently out of mainstream education, those seeking additional support, and individuals with SEND.

We are currently looking for a Tutor with Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent to provide 1:1 Tuition in Core Subjects in preparation for Functional Skills Exams.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver focused, personalised tuition tailored to Functional Skills, ensuring students grasp core concepts.
• Design engaging, interactive lesson plans that adapt to individual learning styles with help of our own resources on our Portal for Tutors.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting your approach to meet their evolving needs by writing a EOW report.
• Foster a supportive and encouraging environment that motivates students to achieve academic success.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, keeping them informed of their child's progress and areas for improvement.

What We're Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification OR Tuition experience.
