Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking Functional Skills Tutors in Peterlee to support children and young people on a 1-1 or small group basis, delivering Functional Skills Maths and English. Sessions are face-to-face in community settings, schools, alternative provision or at home, with a nurturing approach to overcome barriers to learning.

Role involves developing personalised plans, monitoring progress, and providing feedback to families.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths/English
• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to apply for one
• Ability to reference last two years of education/employment

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition in Functional Skills Maths and/or English
• Develop and implement personalised lesson plans to address learning gaps
• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and families
• Create a supportive learning environment to rebuild confidence
• Complete daily attendance and weekly reports
