Job summary

Prospero Teaching seeks a Functional Skills Tutor to deliver personalised English and Maths tuition to students with diverse learning needs in Houghton le Spring. The role involves one-to-one sessions, planning lessons, and tracking progress, with opportunities for both part-time and full-time hours.

Responsibilities include creating customised lesson plans, monitoring progress, and providing feedback to students and families.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Functional Skills (Maths and English)
• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS (child workforce) on the update service, or willing to apply
• Two years of references (education or employment)

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tutoring in Functional Skills Maths and/or English
• Create personalised lesson plans to address learning gaps
• Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to students and families
• Foster a supportive and motivating learning environment
• Complete daily attendance and weekly reports
