Job summary

RECRUIT.ED LIMITED is seeking a Functional Skills Tutor for North Wales to deliver literacy, numeracy and digital skills in the community and from home. Travel to learners within the local radius and deliver tailored one-to-one and group sessions, with assessments aligned to Essential Skills Wales.

You will register learners, conduct controlled assessments, maintain records and develop resources. A full UK driving licence and safeguarding awareness are required, with salary £25,700–£27,300 and

• Experience delivering Essential Skills, Functional Skills or Adult Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Skills.
• Experience working within work-based learning, apprenticeships or adult education.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong IT skills.
• Ability to motivate and engage learners from diverse backgrounds.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and learner welfare.
• Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

Location (Homebased and in the community)

Salary: £25,700 to £27,300 depending on experience

We have fantastic opportunity for a Essential Skills Tutor. Are you passionate about helping people improve their literacy, numeracy and digital skills?

What You'll Be Doing:

• Community based and deliver engaging Essential Skills training in Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Skills.
• You be based from home then travel to support learners to achieve Essential Skills Wales qualifications within agreed timescales in the local community radius.
• Invigilate and deliver one-to-one and group-based learning sessions tailored to individual needs.
• Register learners and organise, conduct and invigilate controlled assessments in line with awarding body requirements.
• Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain high achievement rates.
• Produce and maintain accurate learner records and assessment documentation.
• Develop learning resources to support effective delivery.
• Build positive relationships with learners and employers to encourage engagement and progression.
• Travel across your allocated region to meet learners in the workplace.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve quality standards and performance targets.
• Ensure compliance with awarding body requirements, safeguarding, quality assurance and organisational policies.

About You

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about education and committed to helping learners succeed.

Essential:

• Experience delivering Essential Skills, Functional Skills or Adult Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Skills.
• Experience working within work-based learning, apprenticeships or adult education.

• Good understanding of safeguarding and learner welfare.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Desirable:

• TAQA, A1 or equivalent Assessor qualification (or willingness to work towards).
• Essential Skills Practitioner qualification or equivalent.
• Experience working with publicly funded training programmes.
• Welsh language skills.
