Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Functional Skills Tutor in Oldham to support a Year 13 student with Autism/ASD and ADHD. The role requires delivering personalised Functional Skills sessions in a calm, engaging setting to help the learner progress and stay engaged.

Immediate start, part-time 3 hours per day, 5 days per week, with a focus on building confidence and independence. Competitive hourly pay and ongoing professional development are provided.

Salary: £25 - £35 per hour

Are you an experienced Functional Skills Tutor who can engage a learner who may have faced barriers to education?

Do you have experience supporting young people with Autism and ADHD?

Are you patient, adaptable and confident delivering personalised learning to a Year 13 student with low engagement?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist education provision in Oldham supporting young people with additional needs. The provision is looking for a Functional Skills Tutor who can provide personalised support in a calm and engaging environment, helping learners develop their confidence and progress with their education.

The provision is looking to appoint a Functional Skills Tutor on a long-term basis with an immediate start, working 3 hours per day, 5 days per week. The successful Functional Skills Tutor will support a Year 13 student with Autism / ASD and ADHD, adapting Functional Skills sessions to the learner's individual needs and using a patient and consistent approach to improve engagement.

The successful Functional Skills Tutor will have:

• Experience delivering Functional Skills
• Experience supporting young people with SEND
• Experience supporting learners with Autism / ASD and ADHD
• Confidence working with learners who have low engagement
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
