Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Functional Skills Tutor for an immediate start in Nottingham. The role focuses on delivering Functional Skills Maths and English, adapting to individual learner needs and supporting learners to build confidence and progress.

The tutor will work with learners requiring additional support in an inclusive learning environment, with ongoing CPD and competitive pay rates. Immediate start and long-term placement available.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths and/or English.
• Experience supporting learners with additional educational needs.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to individual learners.

Location: Nottingham

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: £25 - £35 per hour

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist education provider in Nottingham supporting learners who require additional support with their education. The provision focuses on creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where learners are encouraged to build confidence and progress.

The provider is looking to appoint a Functional Skills Tutor on a long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful Functional Skills Tutor will deliver Functional Skills sessions, adapt learning to meet individual needs and provide consistent support to help learners develop their Maths and English skills.

The successful Functional Skills Tutor will have:

• Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths and/or English
• Experience supporting learners with additional educational needs
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to adapt teaching methods to individual learners
• Good classroom and behaviour management skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
