TeacherActive is recruiting a Functional Skills Tutor for an immediate start in Nottingham. The role involves delivering Functional Skills sessions, supporting learners with additional needs, and adapting teaching to individual goals.

The position offers a long-term assignment with a dedicated onboarding process and competitive hourly pay. You will work within a specialist education provider committed to inclusive learning, helping learners build confidence and progress in Maths and English

Functional Skills Tutor

Location: Nottingham

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: £25 - £35 per hour

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist education provider in Nottingham supporting learners who require additional support with their education. The provision focuses on creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where learners are encouraged to build confidence and progress.

The provider is looking to appoint a Functional Skills Tutor on a long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful Functional Skills Tutor will deliver Functional Skills sessions, adapt learning to meet individual needs and provide consistent support to help learners develop their Maths and English skills.

The successful Functional Skills Tutor will have:

• Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths and/or English
• Experience supporting learners with additional educational needs
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to adapt teaching methods to individual learners
• Good classroom and behaviour management skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
