Job summary

Trigon Recruitment Ltd is seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Maths Tutor to join the education team at HMP Stocken. You will deliver high‑quality Maths teaching from Entry Level 1 up to Level 2 to small groups, helping learners build confidence and achieve qualifications.

This permanent, full‑time role involves designing structured learning plans, delivering engaging sessions, and supporting progression toward personal, academic and employment goals. Salary from £30,000 (DOE).

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths Grade C/4 or equivalent.
• Ability to teach Functional Skills Maths up to Level 2.
• Strong subject knowledge and experience in delivering Maths.
• Experience in teaching, training, or supporting learner progress.
• Ability to engage learners using a range of teaching methods.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Functional Skills Maths from Entry Level 1 to Level 2 to small groups.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that meet a range of learning needs.
• Use varied teaching strategies to support learners with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
• Provide advice, guidance, and academic support throughout the learning journey.
• Create and maintain individual learning plans to track progress and support development.
• Motivate learners, helping them build confidence and resilience.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
• Ensure high standards of compliance, quality assurance, and record keeping.
• Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health & safety standards.
