Job summary

Oakmoor Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Functional Skills English Tutor to deliver engaging English programmes, helping learners build confidence and achieve recognised qualifications.

You will deliver from Entry Level 1 to Level 2, plan creative lessons, assess progress and maintain learner records. This is a full-time, permanent role with a starting salary of 30,000 per annum and enhanced pay for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Functional Skills English up to Level 2
• Qualified teaching/training qualification (ideally L5 or above)
• Level 3 qualification in English
• Strong lesson planning, assessment and learner-management skills
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Experience supporting young people with a range of needs or barriers to learning
• Patient, empathetic and resilient approach
• Ability to adapt teaching style to meet individual learner needs
• Strong communication, organisation and record-keeping skills
• Genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people

Responsibilities

• Deliver Functional Skills English from Entry Level 1 through to Level 2
• Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to different abilities and learning needs
• Motivate learners who may have experienced barriers or disengagement from traditional education
• Assess and monitor learner progress, achievement, attendance and engagement
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date learner records

Education

Teaching qualification (L5 or above)
