Job summary
Veolia UK in Ellesmere Port is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to lead the management of safety lifecycle for safety instrumented systems at the Ellesmere Port High Temperature Incinerator. You will provide EC&I technical support to site projects and drive functional safety improvements across the business.

Qualifications
- Experience managing functional safety lifecycle for safety instrumented systems.
- Leadership in hazard identification and risk assessment (PHA/HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA).
- Experience working with COMAH sites.
Responsibilities
- Based at Ellesmere Port High Temperature Incinerator, ensures a robust functional safety management system to achieve compliance.
- Provide EC&I technical support to site projects as required.
- Support COMAH activities—intervention visits and safety report development.
- Support long term hazardous waste functional safety improvement.
- Be the Veolia functional safety subject matter expert.
- Ensure audits cover all aspects of functional safety.
- Develop and work with internal functions on asset strategies.
- Support functional safety/process safety competency development.
- Hazard study support as required (PHA/HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA).
