Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to manage the lifecycle of safety systems at our Ellesmere Port site. You will lead EC&I support for projects and drive improvements in a COMAH environment, ensuring robust safety management and compliance.

Ideal candidates will have experience with hazard identification, risk assessment, and a TUV functional safety background. This role offers a company car or car allowance, private medical, pension, and a performance bonus.

Qualifications

• Experience in management of functional safety lifecycle for safety instrumented systems.
• Experience in hazard identification and risk assessment (PHA/HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA).
• TUV Functional safety engineer certification or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Based at Ellesmere Port High Temperature Incinerator, ensure a robust functional safety management system is in place.
• Provide EC&I technical support to site projects as required.
• Support COMAH activities – intervention visits and safety report development.
• Develop long-term functional safety improvement plans and asset strategies.
