Job summary

Everpool Recruitment in Watford is seeking Functional Assessors for hybrid roles across England. You’ll use your clinical knowledge to assess how health conditions affect daily living and work capabilities, conducting telephone, video and face-to-face assessments.

Training is provided and roles offer a Monday–Friday schedule with no nights or weekends. Starting salary and progression are provided with a clear pathway, including a salary increase after 12 months and opportunities for a bonus

Qualifications

• Registered professionals required in adult, mental health, and learning disability settings.
• Occupational therapists, physiotherapists, paramedics and pharmacists are also sought for functional assessment work.
• At least 1 year of post-registration experience and active registration are expected.

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video and face-to-face assessments
• Explore how health conditions affect everyday activities and work
• Review medical evidence and health questionnaires
• Ask detailed questions about functional ability
• Produce clear, accurate and objective reports for the DWP
• Make recommendations based on assessment findings

You’ll need:

• At least 1 year of recent post-registration experience in a relevant adult setting
• At least 1 year of active NMC or HCPC registration
• Strong communication and assessment skills
• Excellent report-writing and typing skills
• Good IT skills
• The ability to work independently and manage your own caseload

WCA Functional Assessor

Starting at £50,000

Increases to £51,000 after 12 months (if performance objectives are met) plus eligibility for the bonus scheme (5–6 assessments per day - WCA assessments are shorter than PIP)

Roles are subject to availability and service requirements in each geographical area. Ideally, candidates should be open to either PIP or WCA. Where possible, we may be able to accommodate a preference, although this cannot be guaranteed.

Full training provided

Successful candidates will complete a comprehensive 12-week training programme, covering:

• Assessment techniques
• DWP guidelines and requirements
• Report writing
• Functional assessment skills
• Role-specific training and support

You don't need previous Functional Assessor experience — your clinical experience and transferable assessment skills are what matter.
