Job summary

Gaia Recruitment is recruiting PIP and Work Capability Assessment (WCA) Functional Assessors for our Guildford assessment centre, with start dates from September onwards. You will use your clinical expertise to carry out PIP and WCA assessments and produce high‑quality, evidence‑based reports to inform decisions on health‑related benefit decisions.

Location Guildford. You will receive a full, structured training programme to DWP approval, with ongoing clinical support and development.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NMC or HCPC registration.
• A minimum of 12 months' post-registration clinical experience.
• Strong written communication and clinical reasoning skills.
• Confidence working with a wide range of physical and mental health conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional assessments for PIP or WCA claimants, face-to-face, by telephone or video.
• Analyse how a health condition or disability affects daily life and ability to work.
• Produce clear, concise, evidence-based reports for the DWP.
• Manage your own caseload within a supportive, clinically led team.

This is a varied, role where you'll use your clinical expertise to carry out either PIP and WCA assessments, producing high-quality, evidence-based reports that help inform decisions on health-related benefits. You'll receive a full, structured training programme to DWP approval, with ongoing clinical support and development.

The package

• Starting salaries up to £50,000 (dependent on location)
• 10% productivity bonus scheme
• Monday to Friday, daytime hours – no nights, no weekends, no on-call
• Comprehensive induction and training to DWP approval

What you'll be doing

• Conducting functional assessments for PIP or WCA claimants, face-to-face, by telephone or by video
• Analysing how a person's health condition or disability affects their daily life and ability to work
• Producing clear, concise, evidence-based reports for the DWP
• Managing your own caseload within a supportive, clinically led team

What you'll need

• Current, unrestricted NMC or HCPC registration (RGN, RMN, RNLD, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist)
• A minimum of 12 months' post-registration clinical experience
• Strong written communication and clinical reasoning skills
• Confidence working with a wide range of physical and mental health conditions
