Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants for long-term placements across West Sussex & Surrey. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, supporting partner schools in primary, secondary and SEN settings.

You will lead small group literacy and numeracy interventions and provide 1:1 support for SEN pupils. An Enhanced DBS and right to work in the UK are required; term-time holidays apply and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Full Monday to Friday availability during standard school hours.
• Prior experience supporting children or young people.
• A patient, proactive, and resilient approach to pupil support.
• Strong communication skills and confident foundational English and Maths.
• An Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
• Right to work in the UK and reliable transport links across West Sussex and Surrey.

Responsibilities

• Working full-time hours (Mon-Fri 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM) alongside class teachers to maintain smooth daily routines.
• Leading small group interventions in core literacy, phonics, and numeracy.
• Providing dedicated 1:1 learning support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including ASD, ADHD, or speech and language delays.
• Helping create an inclusive, safe, and positive learning environment throughout the school day.
• Supporting classroom preparation, learning displays, and break-time monitoring.
