Job summary

Randstad Education is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant for long-term placements across West Sussex and Surrey. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, supporting class teachers and delivering 1:1 and small-group literacy, phonics, and numeracy interventions.

Qualifications

Full Monday to Friday availability during standard school hours.
Prior experience supporting children or young people (in schools, nurseries, sports coaching, care, or youth work).
A patient, proactive, and resilient approach to pupil support.
Strong communication skills and confident foundational English and Maths.
An Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
Right to work in the UK and reliable transport links across West Sussex and Surrey.

Responsibilities

Working full-time hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM) alongside class teachers to maintain smooth daily routines.
Leading small group interventions in core literacy, phonics, and numeracy.
Providing dedicated 1:1 learning support for pupils with SEN (ASD, ADHD, or speech and language delays).
Helping create an inclusive, safe learning environment throughout the school day.
Supporting classroom preparation, learning displays, and break-time monitoring.
