Job summary

Olive Recruit is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to provide safe, person-centered support to individuals with complex needs in a structured care environment. You will work in enhanced staffing models (3:1/4:1/5:1) and must remain calm and professional during escalating behaviors while prioritising prevention and positive behaviour support.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with complex needs and behaviours that challenge.
• Practical experience using de-escalation techniques.
• Experience with high-acuity services or enhanced staffing packages (3:1, 4:1, 5:1).

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centered support in line with care plans and PBS strategies.
• Work within 3:1, 4:1 or 5:1 staffing arrangements and understand roles during high-risk periods.
• Recognise triggers and respond proactively to changes in behavior.
• Use de-escalation techniques to reduce distress and prevent escalation.
• Maintain calm communication during challenging situations.
• Record care delivery, observations and incidents accurately.
• Participate in training, supervision and competency assessments.
• Collaborate with colleagues, clinical professionals and families.
