Job summary

Monarch Education are recruiting a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant for a specialist setting in Fishponds, Bristol. The role focuses on pupils aged 5–19 with Autism, SEMH and complex needs, providing hands-on, structured support throughout the school day.

You will work closely with teachers and therapists, using visual supports and sensory strategies to create a calm, safe learning environment and help pupils reach their personal development goals.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEND or in a care/support-based role.
• Understanding of working with individuals with additional or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils aged 5–19 with special educational needs.
• Support pupils with Autism, SEMH, communication difficulties and complex needs.
• Assist with personal care and daily routines when required.
• Support behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Use routines, visual supports and sensory strategies to aid learning.
