Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs across a trust of five schools in Sussex. You will work with children aged 5–16, including speech and language needs and autism, in friendly, supportive environments.

Role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 08:30–16:00, term-time only, with excellent school facilities and opportunities for career progression. DBS and compliance processes apply.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with SEN needs.
• Care, education or childcare experience desirable.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• GCSE Maths and English (pass) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students during class and keep them on track.
• Liaise with class teacher to ensure smooth running of the class.
• Supervision of children during playtimes and lunch breaks.
• Enable learners to access the curriculum.
• Support the pastoral needs of the learners.
• Be an active part in setting the learning environment.
• Support learners on a 1:1 basis and in small groups across activities.
• Engage students in learning using their interests.

We work with a popular education trust in Sussex that oversees 5 schools. We are looking for a specialist TA that can offer specialist TA support in there settings.

I am currently recruiting for a teaching assistant who is dedicated and committed to providing the best guidance and support throughout the day for the school's students.

This role is needed on a full time basis. Working Monday-Friday 08:30-4:00pm. This role is term time only.

Your responsibilities include:

• Assist students during class making sure they are on track

The ideal candidate may possess the following skills and capabilities:

• Be able to support learners with various SEN needs
• Previous Care, education or childcare experience (desirable)
• Personal or professional experience of SEN
• Be confident to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• GCSE Maths and English at pass grade
