Protocol Education is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. You will work with teachers and staff to provide tailored support for pupils with SEN, helping them access learning and grow confidence.

The role involves supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH, and contributing to EHCP implementation while promoting a safe, inclusive classroom culture.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with SEN is desirable.
  • Understanding of SEN and effective support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, caring and adaptable approach to supporting pupils.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
  • Assist in implementing EHCPs and individual learning programmes.
  • Support pupils with ASC, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, parents and external professionals.
  • Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interaction.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff.
  • Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
