Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking, site, or maintenance role (ideally within a school)
• Practical skills in general maintenance and basic repairs
• Ability to carry out basic plumbing tasks
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good organisational and multitasking abilities
• Willingness to support school ethos and safety policies

Responsibilities

• Maintain the security of the school and related premises, including locking/unlocking, securing entrances, reporting security breaches, and supervising lettings.
• Keep the environment clean and orderly; perform minor repairs, report faults, operate heating, lighting, and assist with cleaning duties.
• Assist in moving/fixing furniture within the building.
• Take responsibility for maintenance and upkeep of all school minibuses and support driving when required.
• Maintain secure storage of supplies and assist with receipt, distribution, and dispatch of goods.
• Prepare equipment and operate daily tools as instructed; undertake routine record keeping.
• Promote health and safety for pupils, staff and visitors per legislation and school policies.
• Attend meetings and partake in training to develop role and collaborate with other staff.
