Job summary

Principal Education in Edmonton, North London is seeking a reliable School Caretaker to help keep our site safe, secure, clean and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors.

You will perform daily checks, basic maintenance and repairs, manage external contractors, and support safeguarding and health and safety across the site.

Qualifications

• Must have previous experience in caretaking, maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Able to carry out general repairs and maintenance.
• Commitment to safety and safeguarding in a school environment.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training when required.

Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school premises each day.
• Carrying out daily checks of the school buildings, grounds and facilities.
• Undertaking general maintenance, repairs and basic DIY.
• Ensuring the school site is safe, clean and well presented.
• Responding promptly to maintenance issues and emergencies.
• Monitoring heating, lighting, water and other building services.
• Maintaining school grounds, including basic gardening and outdoor upkeep.
• Setting up and moving furniture and equipment when required.
• Liaising with contractors and supervising external maintenance work.
• Supporting the school with health and safety checks.
• Maintaining appropriate records of inspections and repairs.
• Reporting any hazards, damage or security concerns to staff.

Salary: £28, £32 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Full-time, Monday Friday

We are looking for a reliable, practical and hardworking School Caretaker to join our friendly school community in Edmonton, North London.

The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring our school site is safe, secure, clean, well-maintained and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
