Job summary

Wirral Metropolitan College is seeking an Additional Learning Support Tutor to join our team. This 35 hours per week, full-time, permanent role offers a salary of £31,410 to £43,440 per annum.

You will provide targeted support for students with SEND, help develop study skills and independence, and work with teaching staff to ensure accessible learning materials. The college emphasises inclusivity and professional development.

Qualifications

• Full recognised teaching qualification.
• Level 2 English and maths.
• SEND / Inclusions related area or commitment to a recognised qualification.
• Experience assessing, teaching and supporting learners with SEND.
• Experience delivering additional learning support and understanding common learning difficulties.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with SEND and additional learning needs.
• Support students to develop study skills, organisation, time management, literacy, numeracy, communication, and independent learning skills.
• Assist students in achieving targets identified within EHCPs, ALSPs, or ILPs.
• Promote student independence and reduce reliance on support where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure learning materials and teaching approaches are accessible and inclusive.
