Job summary

Supertemps Ltd in Rhyl is seeking a dedicated Education Support Assistant to help learners with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) reach their potential. You will work alongside tutors and support staff in an inclusive college environment, promoting wellbeing and positive behaviour.

The role is temporary, starting end of August or early September, for 19.5 hours per week at £13.45 per hour, with DBS clearance required and Welsh language ability (conversational).

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners in an educational, training or vocational setting, including those with ALN.
• Qualifications within the relevant field, including Supporting Learners with ALN, with a willingness to work towards further development where required.
• Understanding of person-centred approaches and inclusive learning practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, adaptable and supportive approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with learners, tutors and wider support teams.
• Ability to speak Welsh (conversational)
• Enhanced DBS clearance is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Providing personalised support to learners with ALN, helping them to engage positively with their education and college life
• Working alongside tutors and specialist support staff to create an inclusive, supportive and encouraging learning environment
• Supporting learners to develop independence, confidence and resilience by adapting support to meet their individual needs
• Assisting with learning activities, including adapting materials, supporting assessments and helping learners achieve their goals
• Promoting learner wellbeing, inclusion and positive behaviour while maintaining accurate and confidential records
