Job summary

Wirral Metropolitan College is seeking a Learning Support Technician to join the Computing team on a part-time basis (17.5 hours/week). The role offers a salary of £12,577.50 per year and is permanent.

The post involves assisting with teaching areas, student induction, support during lessons and self-directed study, and ensuring safe operation of materials and equipment. A strong health and safety focus is required.

Qualifications

Minimum level 2 literacy/English qualification.
Minimum level 2 numeracy/maths qualification.
Level 3 in discipline of study.
Knowledge of current health & safety regulations.
Experience organising delivery of materials and preparing them for use.

Responsibilities

Provide support and joint supervision for the operation of relevant teaching and learning areas.
Participate in the induction of students to the College and its facilities.
Assist lecturers in supervising safe operation and procedures for materials, equipment and processes.
Assist lecturers by supporting students during teaching and self-directed study and help with course planning.
Oversee maintenance and servicing of curriculum equipment with up-to-date records and safety compliance.
