Job summary

Flourish Education in Tamworth is recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for a part-time role from September 2026 through to March 2026. You will cover classes across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, delivering pre-prepared lessons with no planning required, and supporting pupil engagement across a broad curriculum.

This role suits someone flexible and confident in leading whole-class sessions in the absence of the class teacher, with a healthy work/life balance and a collaborative school community.

Qualifications

  • HLTA status or equivalent qualifications and experience.
  • Experience covering classes within a primary school setting.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and confidence leading a class.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1, KS2 in absence of class teacher.

Are you an experienced and confident HLTA still looking for work in September?

A two-form entry primary school in Tamworth is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026 through to March 2026.

This is a part-time HLTA position, covering classes across EYFS, KS1, and KS2, offering valuable experience across all primary age groups. There is no planning required for this role, making it a great opportunity for those looking to maintain a healthy work/life balance while gaining varied classroom experience.

In this Higher Level Teaching Assistant role, you will play an important part in ensuring continuity of learning by leading whole-class sessions in the absence of the class teacher. You will deliver pre-prepared lessons, manage classroom behaviour, and support pupils' engagement and progress across a broad curriculum.

This role is ideal for newly qualified teachers looking to build confidence across different key stages, or for experienced educators seeking a more flexible and manageable workload.

This welcoming primary school is looking for a reliable, adaptable, and proactive HLTA who is committed to supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the school.

The role is part-time, working Wednesday to Friday, 8:15am to 4:30pm.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 in the absence of the class teacher
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively and promoting a positive learning environment
  • Supporting pupils' learning and engagement across a variety of subjects
  • Adapting teaching approaches to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs
  • Working closely with teaching staff to ensure consistency and continuity across classes
  • Providing feedback on pupil progress and classroom activities
Qualifications
  • HLTA status or equivalent qualifications and experience
  • Previous experience covering classes within a primary school setting
  • Strong behaviour management skills and confidence leading a class
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to working across all primary year groups

  • Competitive salary – £19,500 - £23,400 per annum, based on working five days a week for a full school year
