Job description

A three-form-entry primary school in Alcester is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team, starting as soon as possible and continuing through to February 2027.

This is a full-time HLTA position, covering classes across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, offering valuable experience across all primary age groups. There is no planning required for this role, making it a great opportunity for those looking to maintain a healthy work-life balance while gaining varied classroom experience.

In this Higher Level Teaching Assistant role, you will play an important part in ensuring continuity of learning by leading whole-class sessions in the absence of the class teacher. You will deliver pre-prepared lessons, manage classroom behaviour, and support pupils’ engagement and progress across a broad curriculum.

This role is ideal for newly qualified teachers looking to build confidence across different key stages, or for experienced educators seeking a more flexible and manageable workload.

This welcoming primary school is looking for a reliable, adaptable and proactive HLTA who is committed to supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the school.

The role is full-time, working Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

As an HLTA, your responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively and promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Supporting pupils’ learning and engagement across a variety of subjects.
  • Adapting teaching approaches to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs.
  • Working closely with teaching staff to ensure consistency and continuity across classes.
  • Providing feedback on pupil progress and classroom activities.
To be successful in this HLTA role, you will need:
  • HLTA status or equivalent qualifications and experience.
  • Previous experience covering classes within a primary school setting.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and confidence leading a class.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to working across all primary year groups.
  • A proactive and positive attitude towards supporting learning.
Working for Flourish Education as an HLTA, you will receive
  • £92.59 to £100.00 per day, equating to £18,049 to £19,500 per annum. (Based on experience)
  • Pension contributions.
  • Holiday pay – for PAYE candidates, 12.07% of your daily rate is accrued into your holiday pot.
  • KCSIE-compliant safeguarding and Prevent Duty training, including modules relating to legislation, FGM and abuse.
  • Refer a Friend bonus scheme.
  • Regular contact throughout the registration process and while you are at work from your own dedicated consultant.

This Higher Level Teaching Assistant role is based in Alcester and is easily accessible from Bidford-on-Avon, Leamington Spa and Henley-in-Arden
