Job summary

Istead Rise Primary School is seeking an Administration and Attendance Officer to join the team. You will be the welcoming face at the front desk, manage daily phone inquiries, visitor protocols and safeguarding duties, and take ownership of morning attendance using the MIS system.

The role focuses on contacting parents about absences, monitoring trends across year groups and supporting safeguarding practices to help pupils thrive in a calm, well-organised environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in school attendance processes and reporting.
• Experience handling front desk duties, phone inquiries and visitor protocols.
• Knowledge of safeguarding basics and child wellbeing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage front-of-house operations, greet visitors and handle inquiries.
• Oversee morning attendance routines and register MIS entries.
• Contact parents regarding unexcused absences and monitor attendance trends.
• Support safeguarding practices and communicate with year groups when needed.
