Job description

English Teacher | Full-Time Opportunities | Birmingham & Solihull

Long-Term Secondary Teaching | Five Days Per Week | November 2026 Onwards

Are you a qualified English Teacher looking for a full-time teaching position across Birmingham or Solihull?

Aspire People is looking to connect with English specialists who are available for consistent, five-day-per-week teaching assignments across secondary schools in Birmingham and Solihull.

We are particularly interested in teachers who want the stability of a full teaching timetable rather than occasional or part-time supply days.

Whether you're an experienced English Teacher seeking a new environment, an ECT looking to establish yourself or a teacher returning to full-time work, we'd be interested in discussing your availability.

WHAT OPPORTUNITIES ARE WE RECRUITING FOR?

We are building our network of English Teachers for future full-time and longer-term secondary teaching requirements from November 2026 onwards.

Depending on the school and assignment, responsibilities may include:

  • Delivering English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Teaching GCSE English and supporting pupils with examination preparation.
  • Taking responsibility for a full teaching timetable, typically five days per week.
  • Planning engaging lessons and adapting teaching to different abilities.
  • Marking, assessing and monitoring pupil progress.
  • Maintaining clear classroom expectations and managing behaviour confidently.
  • Working closely with English departments and wider school staff.
  • Supporting SEND and EAL pupils through appropriate teaching strategies.

Some assignments may involve additional departmental responsibilities depending on the length and nature of the placement.

These are prospective opportunities across our partner schools, rather than one confirmed vacancy.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are particularly interested in English Teachers who:

  • Hold QTS or QTLS.
  • Have experience delivering English within a secondary school.
  • Can teach English Language and Literature at KS3 and KS4.
  • Are available for full-time work, ideally five days per week.
  • Are comfortable undertaking planning, marking and assessment for longer-term assignments.
  • Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Can establish positive relationships with pupils and maintain high expectations.
  • Are professional, adaptable and reliable.

Applications are welcomed from experienced English Teachers and Early Career Teachers who are confident managing a full teaching timetable.

FULL-TIME AVAILABILITY

This recruitment campaign is specifically aimed at English Teachers looking for full-time employment or long-term supply assignments.

If you are available Monday to Friday and would prefer a consistent teaching position rather than occasional daily supply, we would particularly like to hear from you.

We are interested in candidates available from November onwards, including those seeking assignments continuing into the spring term.
