Job summary

Softcat is seeking an experienced Software Engineer for the Selling Experience team on a fixed-term maternity cover until June 2027. You will design, develop and support applications and APIs that underpin our Lead to Opportunity products, working closely with product managers and stakeholders in an agile squad.

You’ll deliver features, services and data integrations across the full software development lifecycle, contribute to secure, well-tested code, and help shape product direction while

Qualifications

• Commercial experience as a Full Stack Developer.
• Strong development with C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs using JSON.
• Experience with Azure Service Bus and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, source control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience integrating applications and services within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering and secure development practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and support business‑critical applications and services.
• Deliver features and enhancements aligned to squad objectives and product roadmaps.
• Develop and maintain APIs, integrations and data services supporting Lead to Opportunity business processes.
• Work closely with Product Managers and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure solutions align with enterprise engineering standards and strategic direction.
• Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
• Produce secure, maintainable and well‑tested code.
