Job summary

Alto Software Group in London is seeking a talented full-stack engineer for a maternity cover role (12 months) with hybrid work—2 days per week in our London HQ. You will build on a TypeScript/React frontend and a C#/.NET backend, collaborating with product teams to ship features that improve housing transactions.

You will engage with AWS services, microfrontends, and AI tooling to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality and architectural coherence.

Qualifications

• Strong background in TypeScript and C# for production APIs and distributed systems.
• Experience with asynchronous, event-driven architecture on AWS services (ECS/Fargate, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, DocumentDB).
• Hands-on with AI coding agents and evaluating their usefulness in delivery.
• Product-focused mindset, delivering features end-to-end with evidence-based decisions.
• Able to prototype in ambiguity and iterate based on feedback.

Responsibilities

• Identify problems across a dual-stack C# and TypeScript backend, choosing the right tool for the job.
• Implement microfrontend web apps in React and TypeScript with thoughtful component design.
• Take ownership of features from design through to production and delivery.
• Collaborate with product teams and customers to understand problems worth solving.
• Work with AWS services to build scalable, event-driven architecture and evolve it.
• Use AI coding agents to accelerate delivery and improve code review processes.
• Set high craft standards with architecture decisions, PRs, testing and feedback.
• Explore how AI can reduce repetitive toil and tighten feedback loops.
