Job summary

Lyrebird Health is hiring a Software Engineer to maintain and grow the clinician-facing platform. You will work across the SvelteKit front end and Python services powering document generation with large language models, taking features from idea to production with a focus on speed, reliability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in building production software across front-end and back-end.
• Proficiency with TypeScript, Python, and modern frameworks.
• Experience with large language models, prompts and latency management.
• Strong Postgres design, indexing and query performance.
• Experience operating software on AWS with observability and testing practices.
• Ability to own features end-to-end and contribute to architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver features end to end from database to API to UI.
• Build new clinical document types, prompt engineering and safe editor views.
• Improve speed and cost of document generation by optimizing models and prompts.
• Build integrations with healthcare systems and standards (FHIR/HL7).
• Investigate production incidents and identify root causes using monitoring tools.
• Break down feature work into clear, shippable steps.
• Review teammates' code to maintain high engineering standards.
