Job summary

DC Thomson is seeking a curious and innovative Software Engineer to join our engineering team to build systems, services and experiences powering customer engagement at scale. You will work across front-end experiences, backend systems and data flows, delivering high-quality products and exploring AI tools.

The role involves collaborating with product, data and business teams, designing APIs, and maintaining datasets across MySQL/PostgreSQL/SQL Server.

Designing, developing and maintaining software applications, services and integrations across our customer engagement ecosystem.
Building and enhancing personalised customer experiences and profiling capabilities.
Developing and supporting backend systems that manage customer data flows between platforms and services.
Working with Iterable to deliver scalable and effective email and customer communication solutions.
Collaborating with product, engineering and business teams to understand requirements and deliver valuable technical solutions.
Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving software and system issues.
Contributing to engineering best practices, automation, code quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
Participating in code reviews and knowledge-sharing activities across the wider engineering community.
Exploring opportunities to leverage AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to improve engineering effectiveness and customer outcomes.
