Job summary

DC Thomson is seeking a curious Software Engineer to join our engineering team and help build systems that power customer engagement at scale. You will work across front-end and back-end, delivering high-quality products and exploring AI-enabled approaches.

You will design, develop and maintain applications across our customer engagement ecosystem, integrating with email and messaging platforms and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building full stack applications with React and Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript for modern web apps.
• Experience designing, building and consuming APIs, incl. GraphQL.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software applications, services and integrations across our customer engagement ecosystem.
• Build and enhance personalised customer experiences and profiling capabilities.
• Develop and support backend systems that manage data flows between platforms and services.
• Work with Iterable to deliver scalable email and customer communications solutions.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and business teams to turn requirements into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve software and system issues.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, automation and code quality improvements.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing across the engineering community.
• Explore AI-powered tools and technologies to improve engineering effectiveness and outcomes.
