Job summary

InterSTEM Cambridge is seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to own a production engineering project. The role is hybrid, requiring regular on-site work in Cambridge and collaboration with product and leadership on technical decisions.

You’ll design and implement multi-role RBAC/permissions within an existing platform and drive broader improvements across the application. Stack includes TypeScript, Node.js/Express, Next.js/React, and GitHub Actions.

Qualifications

• Commercial TypeScript experience across frontend and backend.
• Experience with React and Next.js building interfaces and workflows.
• PostgreSQL relational database knowledge.
• Experience implementing RBAC, permissions or complex access-control systems.
• Experience owning database schemas, migrations and backend/API changes.
• Experience building full-stack product features end-to-end.
• Ability to work hybrid from Cambridge.

We’re working with a growing UK technology platform looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to take ownership of an important production engineering project.

This is aCambridge-based hybrid role, so applicants must be able to work on-site in Cambridge on a regular basis.

The initial focus will be designing and implementing multi-role RBAC / permissions architecture within an existing platform, alongside broader improvements across the application.

What's needed:

• Experience owning database schemas, migrations and backend/API changes
• Experience building and owning full-stack product features end-to-end
• Experience making architectural changes to an existing production application
• Able to work hybrid from Cambridge

Experience with SaaS, marketplace, multi-tenant or multi-stakeholder platforms would be particularly useful.
