Job summary

Butternut Box is seeking a Skilled Operator to join our Blyth kitchen team. You will supervise fulfilment activities, ensure timely, high–quality orders, and collaborate with Engineering, Production and Warehousing to meet KPIs.

The role emphasises safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Experience as a line or area leader is preferred; strong numeracy, reliable English communication, and a proactive, flexible attitude are essential.

• Previous experience as a line leader or area leader within the food manufacturing sector (preferred)
• Ability to read and communicate confidently in English
• Numerate (able to understand and work with numbers)

Responsibilities

• Be accountable for the timely fulfilment of high-quality customer orders
• Provide supervision and support to the fulfilment team in order to meet key operational metrics of quality, packing accuracy and packing rates
• Assist the Team Leader by monitoring & improving your teams performance in order to achieve growth and accuracy in a supportive environment
• Work in a safe way following all appropriate safety procedures by maintaining a tidy and hygienic working environment
• Point of contact for Team Leader for regular performance review meetings
• Occasional attendance and contribution at daily review meetings
• Other general tasks waste processing, order packing etc.
• Work to relevant standards and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
• Work well with multiple functional teams including Engineering, Technical, Production and Warehousing.
• This role is 100% based in our kitchen in Blyth, Doncaster
• You might know this role as a Machine Operator, Machine Technician, Manufacturing Technician but in Butternut, we call this a Skilled Operator.
• We are a permanent contract, rolling average of 115 paid hrs per pay period (4 weekly), 6 hr shifts per day minus 15 mins unpaid break, Sun-Thu 6pm-midnight.

  Hours: We are pleased to say, this is a permanent contract, you will be working a rolling average of 115 paid hrs per pay period (4 weekly), 6 hr shifts per day minus 15 mins unpaid break working on a shift pattern of Sun-Thu 6pm-midnight.
