Job summary

Aspire Defence Services Limited is seeking a Fuel & Lubricant Operative to join our team at Tidworth and Bulford. You will manage the Mechanical Transport Fuel Installation, ensuring safe storage and handling of fuel and lubricants in line with current regulations.

The role requires you to issue and monitor products and maintain accurate records, with emphasis on safety and compliance. The position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with no weekend work; the salary is up to £26,800 per

Qualifications

• Basic IT skills including emails, Word and Excel.
• Good verbal communication and a full driving licence.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Manage Mechanical Transport Fuel Installation and safe storage/handling of fuel and lubricants per regulations.
• Issue, monitor and restrict fuel and lubricant access to authorised personnel.
• Carry out routine compliance, fire safety and site inspections; report risks, defects, incidents or spills.
• Maintain safety documentation including COSH registers, SDS, certificates and records.
• Ensure fuel & lubricant point, vehicle wash stations, spill kits and surrounding areas are safe and compliant.
• Support inspections and contribute to a safe working environment via first aid and fire marshal duties.

Your Role:

• You will be managing the Mechanical Transport Fuel Installation, ensuring the safe storage and handling of fuel and lubricant products in line with current regulations.
• You will be demanding, issuing and monitoring fuel and lubricant products, ensuring only authorised personnel receive them.
• You will be carrying out routine compliance, fire safety and site inspections, maintaining accurate records and reporting risks, defects, incidents or spills.
• You will be maintaining safety documentation, including Control of Substances Hazardous to Health registers, safety data sheets, certificates and key records.
• You will be ensuring the fuel and lubricant point, vehicle wash stations, spill kits and surrounding areas are safe, clean, compliant and well maintained.
• You will be supporting inspections, responding to reasonable management requests and contributing to a safe working environment through first aid and fire marshal responsibilities.

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualifications: You will have basic information technology skills, including emails, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, together with good verbal communication skills and a full driving licence.
• Experience: You will be a strong team member who can prioritise your own workload, support colleagues when required and work independently for extended periods in a flexible and hardworking manner.
• Skills: You will be able to work safely, follow regulations and procedures, maintain accurate records and communicate effectively while supporting a compliant fuel and lubricant operation.
