Job summary

Company Shop Group is seeking a Warehouse Shift Manager for the frozen warehouse team in Darton, Barnsley. You will oversee daily operation across shifts, drive safety, quality and efficiency, and lead teams to meet KPIs.

The role focuses on managing picking, packing, MHE and goods in, with continuous improvement and strict compliance with food safety and environmental standards. 40 hours weekly, in a frozen environment with PPE provided.

Qualifications

• Proven record of management in a large-scale operation with a team.
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to foresee and address problems.
• Lead by example and uphold Company Shop Group values.
• Flexible and adaptable to business needs; effective workload planning.
• Experience in operations, distribution or manufacturing; line management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe and efficient running of warehouse operations across frozen and supported chill areas.
• Manage daily activity, monitor KPIs, risks and SLAs; implement corrective actions.
• Lead shift teams, labour planning, deployment and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, hygiene, quality and environmental standards.
• Drive continuous improvement and efficiency; address non-conformances with root cause analysis.
• Conduct team management activities: briefings, 1:1s, development plans, recruitment and onboarding.
• Produce and review KPI reports; ensure effective shift handovers.
• Maintain training compliance; support succession planning; act as Emergency Response Marshall.
