Job summary

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is seeking a Social Worker / Experienced Social Worker for the Enquiry and Assessment Team (East Team). The role involves handling cases from strategy discussions under s47 up to Initial Child Protection Conference, with opportunities for supervision, learning and professional development.

We expect registration with Social Care Wales, a professional social work qualification, and at least 3 years post-qualifying experience for the Experienced level.

Qualifications

• Professional recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Care Wales on appointment.
• Registration with Social Care Wales and ongoing maintenance of registration.
• 3 years post-qualifying experience for Experienced Social Worker grade.
• Sound understanding of the Social Services and Wellbeing Act and related legislation.
• Commitment to anti-oppressive practice with strong assessment, communication and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a defined caseload while building links with partner agencies.
• Take case responsibility from strategy discussions under s47 to Initial Child Protection Conference.
• Support families to reduce risk and need and co-produce care plans when medium-term intervention is required.
• Receive regular supervision, peer mentoring and reflective sessions.
