London Borough of Hounslow seeks an experienced homelessness professional to join the Homelessness, Independence and Preventative Services. The role delivers frontline services to vulnerable residents, focusing on homelessness assessment and prevention across housing, health and social care.

You will work in a busy team, delivering a modern, flexible service, building trust with clients and partners, and supporting courageous, proactive interventions to reduce reliance on temporary accommodation.

Qualifications

• Experience with housing and homelessness legislation (Housing Act 1996; Homelessness Reduction Act 2017).
• Experience in multi-disciplinary housing teams and complex needs work.
• Strong communication to influence, negotiate and persuade with diverse stakeholders.
• Integrity, accountability and proactive problem-solving in challenging environments.
• Ability to work independently, flexibly and collaboratively with analytical skills.
• Willingness to travel around the Borough for home visits and meetings.

Responsabilités

• Fulfil the council's statutory homelessness assessment and decision-making function, with emphasis on emergency and temporary accommodation.
• Proactively prevent and resolve crises across housing, health and social care agendas, using support services and discretionary funds.
• Complete detailed holistic housing and support needs assessments and progress personalised housing plans, with targets to reduce time in temporary accommodation.
