Job summary

Bradford Council is seeking reliable HGV Drivers to join our Waste Services team in Bradford. You will drive a food waste collection vehicle and assist with other routes, working outdoors in all weather to keep our community clean and safe.

Ideal candidates will hold a valid HGV Class 2 licence with Driver CPC, be physically fit, and comfortable using in-cab technology and completing paperwork. This is a frontline role with a strong team spirit and local authority benefits.

Qualifications

• Holds a valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence and Driver CPC.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors all year round.
• Reliable, team-focused with a strong work ethic.
• Comfortable using vehicle technology and completing operational paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Drive a specialist food waste collection vehicle and other HGV collection vehicles.
• Collect food waste and support other waste collection services.
• Complete daily routes safely and efficiently with your team.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
• Complete vehicle records and defect reports.
• Deliver a courteous, helpful service to residents and local businesses.
