Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is recruiting a Verification Assurance Officer for the Farnborough area to join a new frontline role focused on preventing fraud in the welfare system. The OV will interview claimants and work with Jobcentre colleagues to verify evidence, educating customers on their responsibilities and the consequences of non-compliance.

The role requires on-site presence at Jobcentre locations with frequent site travel.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting interviews with claimants to verify information and prevent fraud.
• Strong communication skills to educate claimants and Jobcentre colleagues on fraud responsibilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively across Jobcentre and Service Centre teams to identify fraud trends.

Responsibilities

• Work with Jobcentre and Service Centre colleagues conducting initial evidence interviews, further evidence interviews and verification activities.
• Conduct robust interviews to verify documents related to identification, housing costs, children and childcare costs elements of Universal Credit.
• Lead customer education sessions with Jobcentre colleagues to clarify customer responsibilities and consequences of non-compliance.
• Provide regular MI updates on fraud trends to analysts and performance teams and feed information to risk and intelligence units.
