Dex is seeking a Frontier Engineer to bridge product and customer needs. You will own the full technical surface—from data pipelines and backend services to UI components and on-site hardware configuration—delivering value in complex, real-world environments.

This role rewards turning vague requirements into deployed solutions rather than waiting for explicit specs. You will spend significant time with customers, Install hardware on-site, and shape the product by surfacing insights.

Qualifications

• Ability to deliver tangible value in highly ambiguous technical environments without pre-defined specs.
• Direct experience working with customers on-site and translating complex concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills turning vague needs into deployed solutions.
• Good prioritization, balancing speed and long-term quality.
• Experience across the full stack (Python, TypeScript, Linux).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement full-stack solutions, from data pipelines and backend services to new UI components.
• Install and configure hardware on-site, ensuring seamless integration with existing customer infrastructure.
• Spend up to 50% of your time directly with customers, translating vague operational challenges into concrete technical requirements.
• Drive the product feedback loop, surfacing critical customer insights to inform future development.
• Navigate highly ambiguous problems, delivering deployed solutions where the path forward is rarely obvious.
