Job summary

Modo Energy is hiring frontend engineers to join product teams (Terminal, Data, Ko, or Modelling). You’ll contribute to a shared TypeScript/React/Next.js codebase in a monorepo with a company-wide design system, delivering AI-assisted development across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.

You’ll work with design and domain experts to ship robust interfaces, while maintaining performance and high-quality tests in a fast-moving, hybrid team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional frontend development experience with TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
• Experience with MUI or a similar component library.
• Solid testing practice with Jest and Cypress or Playwright.
• Proficient with Git, Docker, and CI/CD workflows, and familiar with monorepo structures and tools (Turborepo, Yarn Workspaces, or similar).
• Fluent with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar).
• An eye for design (UI/UX) and the ability to ship polished interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Shape the technical direction of our frontend monorepo so it scales with the team and product.
• Design and build components in our internal UI library (built on MUI) for broad reuse.
• Build high-performance, low-latency interfaces that handle live market data.
• Write well-tested code (Jest, Cypress, or Playwright) and participate in code reviews and documentation.
• Balance feature shipping with maintenance, performance, and production reliability.
• Collaborate with design and domain experts to bridge design and engineering.
• Cross into backend/infrastructure aspects for APIs and deployment fixes when needed.
